Leader from the first round at the Cadet / French Championship Patrick Pons & Newman, he signed a superb -9 in the first round and confirmed his leading position in round 2 with a card at -3 (-12 total).

It was while facing stiff competition in the person of Charles Larcelet that Hugo Riboud won the title of French Champion 2018.
